相关介绍： Daniel Wylie found a modicum of fame a few years back with his band Cosmic Rough Riders, whose album Enjoy The Melodic Sunshine rode the charts for a while. Now a solo artist, Wylie’s third solo album gives the listener uplifting sunshine pop that isn’t a million miles away from the type Cosmic Rough Riders produced. Car Guitar Star sounds much more Californian than Scottish, drawing in many different American influences throughout the course of the album. There are the Eagles-esque melodies of You Go There, or the way Wylie’s voice sounds a little like country legend Gram Parsons on the title track, or the psychedelic 60s pop of You’re Not The Only One, with its arpeggiated keys and double-tracked, almost drone-like, vocals. Album opener I Love America is a particular highlight, with joyful harmonies and warm brass, along with quirky lyrics (“I got car-jacked while eating a Big Mac”). An enjoyable, summery record.
